Official January transfer thread
Emiliano Sala - Nantes is who I want in.
Otherwise have complete faith in El Pel and his targets.
Personally I only want a replacement for up front an all out goal scoring machine. Rather the big money be spent in Summer.

Can those in the know contribute their knowledge to predicted Ins and Outs.

To be fair , if we had signed him , he probably wouldn't be dead. His knee would almost certainly have fallen off in his first training session though

Started a thread for most probably the first time ever. Did not post once and the only target I really hoped to sign ends up brown bread. Securing Declans signature far outweighs any signings we would have made. Roll on Summer.

Saw that Bradley Dac fella we were linked with at Brentford yesterday. Looks a decent player scored in the first few minutes and was running the show for Blackburn, until he went off injured.

He would have to go a whole lot down from £140 grand a week for them to even consider it. And he would still be over a hundred grand if we paid 25%.

They love him in North America, we should be looking there if we want to dump his salary but he did want not to that before the World Cup (yet)

I always thought the Valencia thing was a non starter.

I haven't given up on finishing up the table, to be clear. Wolves are rolling but they also has six game winless streak with losses to Huddersfield and Cardiff on there. earlier. Another might come. There are 13 games left and the rest of the competition have look as bad as us at times.

Reece Oxford on as an 88th min sub for Augsburg in their 3-0 win over Mainz.

Re: Official January transfer thread
I agree irons Valencia wouldn’t pay that. Would he move there and lower his wages? Possibly?
Would he have gone on loan if we pay 25-50 pc of his wages with a fee and or option to buy/obligatory purchase? I would assume so.

I am, as we all are assuming the club deemed 7 million insufficient? And damn right I have not given up on the season. I believe some
of the players however have not shown they are up for it. Hence, no bis loss if we sold players subsequently got more injuries and needed to play youngsters. I would much rather see a rookie come on showing some enthusiasm and endeavour and possibly screw up than see AC come on and screw up!!

Valencia are not in a million years going to pay over a hundred grand a week.

I am sure if a serious bid came in it was discussed with Hernandez. I don't see Pellegrini not doing that.

I have not given up on the season, I have some games I still want to go to and I don't think the manager has either. The manager thought we needed to keep him. He has given kids chances if he thought they were ready.

Re: Official January transfer thread
I wasn’t suggesting paying just 7 million on a striker. We need to pay 40-50 you would think for a proven sttiker. Gomez for example. We could have covered half his cost with those two sales alone. That in knowledge that AC, Perez will also be away and off the books (as Pereze will be sold in the summer you’d imagine).

Re: Official January transfer thread
Thats the thing, Hernandez has to realise if he wants to play he has to lower his wages. He’ll not hang around with us til
contracts out not playing! He’d have gone to Valencia I am sure. Even a loan to buy with 75% of his wages and a few would have got him off the books and scoring - and therefore
raising his saleability.

Obiang as cover I don’t really agree either. He is also totally disinterested and therefore another passenger. We have players who can play in several positions and I’d have taken a punt on one
of the youngsters if worse case happened. Only way to find out if the promising Coventry or whoever is the next Rice.

What does it matter if they would agree, he is the one that would have to take a massive pay cut.

(we are not getting any striker in for 7 million, Hugill should show you that.)

Obiang we needed if we weren't getting Medel. Just for bodies. He seems to have sulked a bit since but the manager did not want him leaving.

Re: Official January transfer thread
iRons... Valencia wanted Pea for 7 million and I am sure they would have agreed a lower wage.
We were offerred 10 for Obiang. that already is 17 million and probably another 3 on wages.
Hernany will have very little game time until the summer then leave. so why not save on wages now and have the chance (perhaps) to have got somebody in and also not wait around in the summer usually after his holidays, to be sold. That in turn means more bed in time for the new guy.
The season is looking like mid table mediocrity- if the players can’t motovate themselves for the cup and these last few games the sure as hell won’t push us up the league in the last 7-8 games of the season. Most will be thinking of holidays and transfers! So why would it matter if Pea went, we’d have Perez (shit I know) and Silva as well as Andy (maybe) and even Antonio can play up front so an injury to a striker hardly matters.

I guess the question would be why would other teams take up those wages, even if the transfer is a bit lower.

Re: Official January transfer thread
Just think we have an awful lot of deadwood taking up a far too big of a chunk of our wage budget, id hve taken lower offers for people like hernandez just to get him off the wage bill, then they may have been able to justify to themselves spending the money to get some replacements in.

crystal, I worry that continued shit form for the rest of the season, and more drama from the sulking cunt will unsettle players like diop & anderson

Re: Official January transfer thread
I understand the whole not spending money in January principle but this will more than likely mean we end up missing out on Gomez (Pellegrini's number one target!) because he'll continue to do well this season and some other club will come along in the summer and take him.
